Governors

The Law gives the governing body responsibility for the school.

The full Governing body meets at least once every half term, but sub-groups come together more often and individual governors visit the school, usually to their “adopted” class or curriculum area.

The Head reports regularly to the governors on what is being done in the school and the governing body takes major decisions.

There are 4 parent governors who are elected for a four-year term.

The Governors can be contacted through the school.  If you want to know the dates of governors meetings or are interested in becoming a governor yourself, please contact the Clerk of the Governors, c/o Abbey VC Junior School.

Representatives from the Governing Body try to be at most school events and are happy for you to take this opportunity to chat to them - you'll know who they are by the badge that they'll be wearing.
